Wildlife
Exposed tide-swept pinnacles and islets are home to a thriving gannet colony. The landscape is no less dramatic underwater . Beneath the kelp canopy is a rich understorey of seaweeds - ideal shelter for the many species of fish found at this site.
Observations on use
This site is already recognised as a globally important site for seabirds. There is angling and potting at this site for most of the year.
What difference would protection make?
Complete protection for the area around the islets could secure an important food source for the local seabird populations, and allow the rich plant and animal communities under the water to recover.
