Wildlife

The north Pembroke coast is a treasure chest of marine life. Life attaches to every available surface - sponges, soft corals, anemones and other astonishing creatures like the scarce sponge crab are often seen here. Harbour porpoise and bottlenose dolphins are also commonly seen nearby.

Observations on use

The area is used by lobster pot fishermen, recreational anglers, and further offshore by scallop dredgers.

What difference would protection make?

Complete protection for the three core areas at this site would provide safe haven for fragile marine life. Anglers and pot fishermen could benefit from spill-over to the buffer zone.
